Why we're called POLLE

POLLE stands for Pass On Local Love and Earn. That is the app in one line: locals such as taxi drivers, guides and hosts pass on the places they love to the people they look after, those guests save rupees there, and the business pays only when a guest really shows up. POLLE is an app for all of India, founded by Ulhas Polle.

The name

The five letters of POLLE stand for Pass On Local Love and Earn, which is also our tagline.

In Goa, polle is also a rice pancake shared at home.

We write the name in capitals, POLLE, and live at polleapp.com. To find us again, search polleapp.

Who we are

POLLE was founded by Ulhas Polle. The app is built for how local commerce already works across India: locals recommending places to the people they look after.

Questions? Our help pages answer most of them: the POLLE Manual for tourists and locals, and the Business Guide for owners. Both show how to reach us.

What the POLLE app does

POLLE connects three sides. Locals, such as taxi drivers, guides and hosts, recommend places to people they already serve. Tourists get a discount in rupees with no payment upfront. Businesses, from restaurants and stays to experiences and rentals, pay only when a referred guest's visit is verified.

The business confirms every visit itself, the amounts are worked out automatically, and the business pays the local directly by UPI.
