Questions people ask about POLLE

POLLE is an app where locals recommend places, tourists save rupees at the counter, and businesses pay only when a visit is verified. Short answers: yes, recommendation commissions exist, and POLLE puts them in writing with a share for you; you pay your bill minus the discount and never pay POLLE anything; businesses pay nothing upfront; and locals are paid by the business, by UPI.

Do taxi drivers and guides get a commission from places they recommend?

Yes, it happens. Some places pay drivers, guides and hosts informally for bringing in guests.

POLLE writes it down. The business sets its reward in the app, and the reward is paid only after the business verifies your visit. Part of it always comes back to you as a discount in rupees, which you see before you go, along with the name of the person who recommended the place. The figure is fixed when the business verifies your visit.

Will I pay more?

No payment is needed upfront, your account is free, and you never pay POLLE anything.

You pay the business's bill with your discount taken off. The reward is paid by the business, not by you, and only after it verifies your visit.

If the discount is not applied, raise a dispute from your wallet with a photo of your bill. The business can resolve, dismiss or escalate it, and POLLE can step in to settle it.

For businesses

You pay only for verified visits: nothing upfront, no monthly fee, and zero if nobody shows up. You set the reward, per visit, night stay, order, session or activity, and can change it any time.

You approve every local who refers, you verify each visit yourself on your dashboard, and a bill below your minimum is rejected automatically. You pay locals directly by UPI and settle POLLE's fee from your dashboard.

For locals

POLLE is for drivers, guides and hosts who already recommend places to the people they look after: passengers, guests and tour clients. To make a link, you enter your guest's name and number, so it suits people you already know.

You join free with a WhatsApp number and a UPI id, and each business approves you before you can refer guests to it. For each guest, you choose how much of your share becomes their discount.

When your guest's visit is verified, your share is worked out automatically and the business pays it to your UPI id. You confirm when it arrives. If it never does, you can dispute the payout and escalate it to POLLE.
